Principal's Letter
Dear Saint Louis Community,
It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of Saint Louis Covenant School. I am blessed and humbled to have the opportunity to lead a school with a strong foundation that includes an extremely dedicated staff and supportive school and church community.
I first came to know Saint Louis as a parishioner in 2003. After nearly a decade of teaching in the public school system, I joined the St. Louis staff in 2006 as a classroom teacher where I taught primarily in the areas of middle school mathematics and science. In 2013 I began my role of assistant principal, which I fulfilled through 2021 when I left to assume the position of Principal at St. Mary’s Cathedral School in Little River. In addition to gaining invaluable experience as Principal, I was also afforded many opportunities to increase my skill set and network with educators beyond the Archdiocese of Miami. To note, I served as a mentor principal for the University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education fellowship program which allowed me to collaborate with superintendents, principals, and other school leaders from around the country. Also notable, I was able to spend 3 days at the Infinite Loop on the Apple Campus in Cupertino, California where the endless ways that technology can support teachers and students in the classroom was evident. Finally, I served as the chairperson for several accreditation visits at other Catholic schools throughout the state of Florida. I am excited to bring these experiences with me as I partner with each of you to ensure a successful school year.
On a personal note, my husband, Luis, and I were both born and raised in Miami and are products of Catholic schools ourselves. Providing a Catholic education for my twin daughters, Kaitlyn and Kelsey, was a priority and St. Louis became their home from their first days of preschool through 8th grade. They are now entering their senior years at Florida State University and the University of Florida respectively. My husband continues to be an active volunteer coach and community member at Saint Louis and you will see him around campus often. We are proud to have raised our family in a school and church community that values high standards in faith formation as well as academic preparation.
As Principal of Saint Louis Covenant School, I would like to welcome you (or welcome you back) to our school, home of the Crusaders! I believe that all students can achieve their goals through hard work, perseverance, and support from their teachers and families. The staff of Saint Louis is committed to setting high academic standards while providing a supportive environment that encourages curiosity and a love for learning. As your principal, I am committed to lead with integrity, empathy, and zeal, inspiring others to maximize their potential by fostering a Catholic environment and spirit of teamwork and mutual respect. I will do this with enthusiasm and joy, sustaining long-standing traditions of the school while infusing a fresh perspective that will benefit the entire community. Be on the lookout for upcoming communication regarding back-to-school information; in the meantime, please contact the school office with any questions. With great excitement and anticipation, I eagerly anticipate building relationships with each of you as we embark together on the ever-important mission of educating young minds, hearts, and souls all for HIS glory. May God bless you and keep you safe during the remainder of the summer and I will see everyone very soon!
In His Service,
Julie Perdomo
Principal
